Full-Time  Six-Month Contract Employment – with possibility of Extension

Public Works Personnel

The Town of Bashaw is accepting applications for a Public Works Personnel.

 

Municipal Experience preferred, however willing to train.

Location requirement: required to reside within 15-minutes of Bashaw.

 

Responsibilities

  • Park maintenance including lawn mowing, weed whacking, weed pulling in flowerbeds, and litter pick-up
  • Cemetery clean up including lawn maintenance, weed whacking, and general clean up
  • tree and shrub pruning
  • Pot-hole patching
  • Equipment operation an asset
  • Knowledge/operation of hand tools, physically fit, team player.
  • Weekends and evening shifts are a requirement
  • Self motivated and willing to learn new things
  • other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ability to work independently or with small groups


Qualifications

  • Knowledge or experience in the safe operation of small tools and equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License – Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Criminal Record check
  • Child Welfare Investigation
  • Physically fit

Full-Time Seasonal Summer Employment (STEP)

Maintenance Operators for Works & Parks   

The Town of Bashaw is accepting applications for summer employment. These full-time temporary positions will be assisting in the maintenance of cemeteries, parks, and various other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Open to students aged 15 – 30 to participate

Applications will be accepted until April 22, 2022.

 

Temporary Position Dates: May 2 or 9, 2022 to August 26, 2022 – Depending on Grant Funding

  • Some tree and shrub pruning
  • Pot-hole patching
  • other duties as assigned by supervisor
