Position: Contract Arena & Public Works Staff
The position is for 40 hr/wk. Hours are determined by the demand of the position, weekends are required, and will be considered on a Month to Month basis. Wages negotiated based on Experience.
Job Description: Support staff at the Bashaw Arena, operate Zamboni, cleaning duties, solid communication & people skills, additional public works duties as requested by Foreman.
- Valid Class 3 Drivers license with air brakes, provide an abstract
- Zamboni operation skill
- Clean criminal record
- Written and verbal communication
- Current First aid, knowledge of ice maintenance and janitorial work
- Ability to handle demanding and busy environment
- Ability to work independently

FIRE BAN NOW IN EFFECT
Effective at 8:00 AM Friday, September 8, 2017 Camrose County is under a FIRE BAN. Active permits are cancelled and no new permits will be issued. This fire ban includes the Town of Bashaw.

In the Town of Bashaw there are four (4) Councilors and one (1) Chief Elected Official, also known as the Mayor, who is also the Chairperson for all Council Meetings. One Councilor is appointed as the Deputy Chief Elected Official or Deputy Mayor during the Organizational Meeting and acts as the Chairperson in the Mayor’s absence. The whole of Council deliberates over matters on the Agenda, makes decisions during a Meeting open to the public that has been Called to Order and ratifies their decision (see Procedural Bylaw 762-2014). Their decisions and directions are very important; this is the foundation of municipal governance.

Annual Fall Clean-up – October 2 – 4, 2017.
Public Works will be picking up additional household garbage, old appliances, furniture, garden refuse, etc. October 2 – 4, 2017. You must contact the Town Office at 780.372.3911 prior to SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 to be put on the list for pickup. Construction material and toxic products (old paint) are not accepted and will not be picked up by Public Works. You must make alternate arrangements to dispose of any building materials.
White Goods (all appliances & hotwater tanks) $5.00
Mattresses & Box springs $10.00 each
Propane Tanks $15.00
Goods containing Freon $25.00
All household garbage other than above will be disposed of at no charge.
All fees must be paid at Town Office prior to pick up.
Bylaw 680-2004 Unsightly Property – Section 2(a) – (d) states no person shall permit land or premises to become unsightly or house derelict unlicensed vehicles etc. and we are encouraging all residents in contravention of this bylaw to rectify this violation.

COUNTY OF CAMROSE HAS LIFTED ALL FIRE BANS !
The fire ban for Camrose County has been lifted effective immediately. 24 May 2016. Fire permits will be issued for all open fires including brush, buildings and bales. Camrose County urges everyone to use extreme caution while conducting any burning.
Caution should also be used while doing any outdoor activities that could result in ignition of grass and stubble

IMPORTANT REMINDER – In accordance with the Sidewalk Snow Removal By-Law, every occupant or owner of any property, other than a residential property, that abuts a sidewalk shall, within twenty-four 24 hours after a deposit or obstruction has formed, remove all snow, ice, hail, dirt or any other obstruction from any sidewalk that fronts or flanks the said property. Every occupant or owner of any residential property, that abuts a sidewalk shall, within seventy-two 72 hours after deposit or obstruction has formed, remove all snow, ice, hail, dirt or any other obstruction any sidewalk that fronts or flanks the said property. Failure to comply with this By-law may result in Fines being issued.
Dog and Cat By-law enforcement is implemented by 2 patrols/month provided by a Contractor.
Please be a responsible pet owner and restrict your pets to your own property/yard.
All complaints/pet enforcement issues to be channeled through the Town office and must be submitted in writing.
