We’d Like to Hear From You: Help Shape Bashaw’s Future
Greetings,
Bashaw is shaped by the people who call it home. As we look ahead and continue planning for our community’s future, it is important that the people making those decisions have the opportunity to hear directly from the residents who experience Bashaw every day.
Earlier this year, we began the next phase of the Town’s strategic planning process. Now, we want to broaden that conversation and hear from more of our community about what you value about Bashaw, what could make day-to-day life better, where you believe the Town should focus its attention, and what you hope Bashaw looks like in the years ahead.
To do that, the Town of Bashaw is partnering with Candidly AI, a Canadian voice AI platform, to give residents a simple and anonymous way to share their perspective through a short phone conversation.
This isn’t a survey. It’s a conversation. You’ll call a dedicated phone number and be guided through seven open-ended questions about your experience in Bashaw. The AI voice agent will listen to what you share and may ask follow-up questions based on your answers. There are no right or wrong responses and nothing you need to prepare.
Your participation is entirely voluntary and anonymous. The agent will not ask for your name, and nothing you share will be reported back to the Town with your identity attached. What we learn will be combined across conversations to help Council and Town leadership better understand the priorities, experiences and ideas of the community as we plan what comes next.
The line is open 24/7 from Tuesday, September 29 through Tuesday, October 6.
You can call whenever it works for you during that window. Most conversations take about 10 minutes, and the questions will also be shared with you in advance.
If you would rather type than talk, a text-based version of the same conversation will also be available.
We know not everyone is comfortable speaking at a Council meeting, sending an email or sharing their thoughts publicly. Our hope is that this gives more people in Bashaw an easy way to be part of the conversation and helps us hear from a broader range of our community.
Over the coming days, we’ll also share a simple resident guide with the questions, the phone number to call and everything you need to know before participating, including this less than two-minute video: What to Expect on Your First Candidly AI Call - YouTube
Thank you for taking the time to help us better understand what matters to the people who call Bashaw home. Every perspective adds to the picture and helps us make more informed decisions about the future of our community.
Warm regards,
Cindy Orom, Mayor
Town of Bashaw
